Buttery, flaky on the outside and delicious paneer stuffing inside, paneer puff is a perfect tea time snack. It has been my favorite snack since college days!! God I miss those days.
Okay so I love paneer puffs, but I never tried to make it on my own, since making the pastry dough is a long and tedious task !! So when Unroll send me this pack of puff pastry sheet, I was super excited and I knew exactly what I was going to make !! This ready to use pastry was so easy to work with. I just the made the stuffing rolled it in the pastry sheet and bake.
Ingredients-
Oil - 1 Tbsp.
Onion - 2 finely chopped
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 Tbsp.
Tomato - 1 finely chopped
Salt - as per taste)
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Jeera Powder - 1/2 tsp
Paneer - 200 gm cut into Small cube
Kasuri methi - 2 tbsp.
Puff pastry sheet
Oil or milk wash For brushing
Directions -
Thaw your puff pastry.
Heat oil in a pan, add the onion, ginger garlic paste and sauté for 2 minutes.
Add the tomato, salt and sauté until the tomatoes turn mushy. Add the spices and add 1/2 cup of water, cook till water evaporates.
Add paneer and cook for 2 minutes. Now add kasuri methi and give a quick stir and turn off the flame.
Let the mixture come down to room temperature .
Pre heat the oven at 180 degrees.
Cut the pastry sheet into three equal sized strips. Take a spoon full of prepared paneer masala and place it at its center, bring the side of the sheet together and seal .
Finally, brush the top with oil or milk'
Bake them in the pre-heated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the puff changes to golden brown. Check at regular intervals to avoid burnt puffs.
Serve hot!!
